President 's Message

Greetings Sorors and Friends,

On behalf of the members of the Harrisburg Alumnae Chapter, I welcome you to our official website to learn more about our chapter, programs, community service and upcoming events!

Chartered on February 1, 1958, Harrisburg Alumnae has enthusiastically served the Greater Harrisburg Area Community for more than 63 years. The Harrisburg Alumnae Chapter has a rich history of unwavering commitment to scholarship, public service, and sisterhood, guided by the principles and ideals of our founders.

As a chapter of over 120 active members, we strive to focus on the internal development of our members and transformational change in the communities in our service area.   Our engagement in the local communities includes Social Action initiatives to support voter education/registration, advocacy for equal justice and public policies that positively impact our communities,  scholarship awards for students pursuing post-secondary education, enrichment programs for youth including the Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, the Dr. Jean L. Nobel Delta G.E.M.S., Reading Is Fundamental, financial literacy seminars, aid to foreign countries, promoting healthy lifestyles (mentally and physically), collaboration with community based organizations and a signature fundraising program – Kings Who Cook.

Proud of our legacy, with an eye to the future, we are focused on providing impactful services that effectively respond to the issues and needs of today’s communities through consistent alignment with our sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

  • Educational Development

  • Economic Development

  • Political Awareness

  • Physical and Mental Health

  • International Awareness and Involvement
