Welcome to Harrisburg Alumnae Chapter
Soror Cheryl A. Hickmon was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta in 1982 through the Alpha Xi Chapter at South Carolina State University. Her dedication to Delta was apparent early on and led her to become Alpha Xi Chapter President (1983-1984) and South Atlantic Regional Representative (1984-1986). Understanding the importance of being committed beyond college, Soror Hickmon returned to her home of Hartford after graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Biology and immediately transitioned to the Hartford Alumnae Chapter, where she remained an active member throughout her lifetime.
She would go on to serve on the national level in varying roles including Member of the National Leadership Academy, Co-Chair of the National Leadership Academy, Co-Chair of the National Documents Review and Revision Task Force, and several other special committees and advisory councils. She was elected National Secretary in 2013 and is highly regarded for the efforts she took in ensuring that the Sorority remained organized and efficient. In 2017 she was elected the National First Vice President which also made her Chair of the National Scholarship and Standards Committee. Soror Hickman was elected as the 27th National President in November 2021.
